This book was full of magic, and wonder, and lots of learning. I found the magical world easy to follow. I didn’t have any issues keeping conjurers and marvellers straight. I thought the plot was intriguing. I always enjoy books where there is a magical school and this one hit all the right notes. I really enjoyed reading about Ella and how she grew and changed and was challenged throughout this story. I think that the author wrote a book here that can be enjoyed by adults, but is also the perfect book for her middle grade audience. I loved the diversity of all of the characters and found it to be an important book for young readers to be exposed to different kinds of people. This book is one I will be thinking about for a while and may even end up being a favorite of the year. I am so excited to see what this author comes up with next and can’t wait for the next book next month!
