I'm a simple soul and look for a few things in books I want to read when there are certain words, I'm much more likely to pick it up. We have a hero with magic (Big Plus). We have magical creatures (Even bigger plus). We have a mentor that goes missing (I'm in for the adventure). Middle grades have been becoming enjoyable reads for me and I'm always looking for a good book to add to my classroom library.
