Normally I don't delve into the middle grades stuff but seeing this was by Dhonielle Clayton (who has popped up in several short story collections that I've loved) made it too tempting.
Really does a fantastic job of creating a whimsical world while also setting up for the problems the character will face. Even if I don't get this in the raffle I'll definitely be finishing it because I am so utterly charmed by this book. I'm probably going to have to go through and read her other novels now, too, because so far between this and her short story contributions it has been all hits no misses.
