Memoirs are my favorite type of nonfiction book. As someone who absolutely loved Crying in H Mart, I was excited to read another memoir in the same general vein (i.e. Asian woman author, relationship with mother, loss/grief).

There were so many touching and emotional stories told here, and it was a really fresh perspective. I'm sure writing this book was supremely cathartic for someone who went through such a painful tragedy as a child. This book is really vulnerable, and while of course it tells someone's personal story, plenty of wider topics are discussed as well.

The only reason I wouldn't say it's a perfect five star book is because I do think a few portions could've been edited down just a little bit. It did become a little repetitive and drag on at points, which kind of reduces the impact of the writing. But overall I found this to be a great read.
