Great memoir
Thanks so much for sending me a physical copy of this memoir. This is beautifully written and I look forward to watching Lieu’s show, 140 LBS: How Beauty Killed My Mother. This is the second memoir I have read in the past year about a daughter losing her mother. I really hate that Susan’s mother felt that she needed to have cosmetic surgery done and that she didn’t know to research the doctor first. Her death could have been prevented. I love the cover, it is gorgeous. I learned a lot about manicurists and working in a nail salon. I never thought about how the chemicals could affect the workers. I love that Susan persisted and asked questions of her siblings and other relatives about her mother. Her show and this memoir are a great way to help her and others deal with grief. I am sure writing this memoir helped her heal some and deal with losing her mom at a young age.
