The Manicurist’s Daughter is a winning combination. Why? Because an outstanding memoir is not only as good as any fiction novel but even better because the story is true. For me it is the difference between a scary paranormal/ ghost movie and a documentary or excellent re-enactment of a frightening news story. The emotions, when conveyed properly tug harder at one’s heart, and author Susan Lieu writes sentences and chooses words that covey emotions!
The very first page grabs the reader attention and does not let go. Over-eating, health issues, trying to care for one’s family. This book has so much for all sorts of readers to relate to. This is a must-read book for 2024!
