Unsure if this is a book I'd like

I like the cover design of THE MANICURIST'S DAUGHTER. From what I've read so far in the sample First Impression, the author writes well and has an important story to tell. Though I do enjoy reading memoirs, I'm not sure if this is one I would really want to continue reading. I wouldn't purchase this book, but I'd possibly borrow it from the library.
