The storyline intrigued me but the excerpt made me cringe. Maybe it was too descriptive? More than anything it was just a lot to start a book with a pelvic exam. The lead character is trying to get her book published while she’s 38 which is the same age her mother was when she died. But now she finds herself in the hospital after excruciating pain drove her there and finds out she has a cyst on her ovary. Maybe this will play into the part of the storyline about her mother dying from a tummy tuck or maybe it’s mainly a setback for her completing her novel.
