I really like the cover of The Manicurist's Daughter by Susan Leiu, and the premise is certainly intriguing. The First Look excerpt has a conversational, easy-reading tone in spite of the heavy topics covered. I'm always looking for memoirs with crossover appeal to teen readers, and although I'd need to read more of this one to know if it's one I would purchase for my library's collection, it's definitely a possibility! The medical malpractice angle lends a true crime aspect that broadens the memoir's appeal, too.
