The "sneak peek" of "The Manicurists' Daughter" by Susan Lieu sets the tone for the plot of this novel. I love how Ms. Lieu provides a cultural background of her life and that of her Vietnamese family, both the ups and downs. Ms. Lieu is on a journey to better understand the senseless death of her mother and the surgeon who got away with murder. I found the memoir to be well-written and I look forward to reading "The Manicurists' Daughter" in its entirety.
