I am not really a memoir or nonfiction reader but this first impression impressed me (see what I did there)? It might have to do with the writing about a burst cyst (mine did strangle itself). Or might have to do with losing a mother as a child (my mom died when she was 28 and 7). In any case, I am impressed by the author.
