I breezed through the first impression sample, captivated by the author's haunting quest to seek out answers to her mother's untimely death. Each sentence had me wanting to learn more, each line, although simply written, was impactful combined together. This memoir especially intrigued me, in that I could relate to being the child of first generation Asian immigrants. The cover is stylistic and simple, while being visually pleasing.
