A gripping beginning to a beautiful memoir

Instantly, I feel so drawn into the story of Susan Lieu, the daughter of a manicurist. She navigates the challenges presented by her family which resulted inexorably in grief, trauma, and body image issues. I think it's such a raw and real beginning to a truly unique memoir.
