WOW
Well this book was FANTASTIC! He honestly knocked it out of the park once again for me. I went into this book with certain expectations and a thought to what would happen and it was nothing like I expected. To say the least, I loved the big twist at the end because I thought I knew everything that would happen and I was splendidly wrong.
On another note, I felt that he did a great job with setting the atmosphere of the book. His writing made you feel the "dark academia" aesthetic and it helped to lead this book along in a unique direction.
For his characters I found it interesting that he focused more on analyzing the male characters instead of the females. Since the book was called the maidens I figured we would see more about the women who are following the professor. Instead we spent more time looking at the professor, Fred, etc. In a way I wish we would have even elaborated more on the women because I was intrigued by what happened to them and their motivations.
Other than that I loved the book and cannot wait to talk about it with others once published!
