First of all, being able to receive an advanced reading copy of Alex Michaelides' second book was an opportunity I would not pass up. I immediately knew I was going to be a happy reader.
I was intrigued from start to finish. "The Maidens" was a slow building plot that kept me on the edge of my seat from the moment I read the first chapter! I was constantly guessing throughout the entire book, which had me staying up all hours of the night reading in my room!!
All the gradualness of the storyline had ultimately lead up to a fast pace and abrupt ending. Which was expected on my end, nonetheless, I had enjoyed every second reading it!
Although one thing that I was a bit upset about was the lack of appearances The Maidens made throughout the book. I would have thought they would have appeared more for being a book titled "The Maidens."
Despite that minor flaw, I highly encourage everyone who likes Greek mythology and murder mysteries to read this book!!
