The Maidens was an excellent read!! To start the cover is fitting and symbolic, I love how the book was broken into shorter chapters and I love the writing. Some of the Greek names I was stuck on how they are pronounced but I like the whole concept of Greek history/tragedy that really brought the book to life. Mariana kind of annoyed me at first for being a therapist she seemed to lack much confidence in herself and didn't seem to be such a strong woman for her role, although she seemed to be very empathic. Once she went to help her niece Zoe I think she developed more in the book and I was pleased with her by the end, I think she found her strength and who she was. There were so many possible suspects I didn't know what I was in for with the ending but it was a surprise! I had some pretty creative ending ideas so I was hoping for a little more at the end but all in all I was pleased and loved the creative backdrop to the book!
