I first read the The Silent Patient in January of 2021 and it was an incredible psychological thriller, the author Alex Michaelides instantly won my praise with his interesting writing style. So obviously I was very curious to see what else he had written and if his style extends across all of his work. I was quite pleased to see he had a new thriller to be released this very same year in the summer! The first 17 pages are extremely interesting and make the reader interested in the suspicious antagonist and why the protagonist thinks he’s a murderer. He’s keeping on track with his unique style of writing. I think this one will be very different from his previous book The Silent Patient but a gloriously complex series of event on it’s own. I can’t wait for it to come out next month and get my hand on the full text! I give the first 17 pages 4 stars, but really who knows?
