A book using the works of Tennyson, Euripides, and other Greek tragedies as the backdrop of a murder mystery? This was an English teacher’s dream!

I absolutely loved the short chapters as well as the writing style in this one. It definitely kept me turning pages, and never wanting to put it down.

The story was mysterious with a really good premise - and the twist got me! I admit, I pretty much suspected everyone in the book except for the person who actually wrote the letters. That doesn’t happen often! It disgusted me, but it was a good twist!

I will say this, you will enjoy this book much more if you have already read the first book my Michaelides - The Silent Patient. There is some overlap (this was actually my favorite part about The Maidens), though it is not necessary to read one before the other. I will definitely recommend this one to everyone!
