Fans of slow burns and Greek tragedies will devour this book. It has the menacing and unreliable feeling of every Greek thriller movie you've seen (I personally thought of the Skulls and even the theater scene in Scream 2 but thats just me). For me, those things aren't my fancy unfortunately so I passed this one onto someone I knew would love it. It's masterfully written and so clearly well researched, so it pained me they it wasn't a good fit. I will say, even though this one wasn't for me, I enjoyed The Silent Patient enough to seek out anything this author writes. A fresh face in the genre, with unique and talented writing is always an author I'll seek out. This one is sure to fly off the shelves and be a hit with many. I look forward to recommending this to my friends who love Jane Harper as well. I loved Marianna's role as grieving widow, doting aunt and specialized group therapist (with a troubled patient no less)!
