The Silent Patient was the first traditional thriller I ever read. I enjoyed that book mostly because of the authors great writing style. I saw that his second novel was coming out, and put it on my tbr. Then I kept hearing worlds like Dark Academia, Greeks, Secret History, I knew I had to try my best to get a hold of this book stat. I'm so glad I did. It reminded me a little of Bunny, a little of The Secret History. Except from the outside. It was what an average person would observe about these weird intense groups. The focus on Greece the country, the Greek tragedies and the pretension of classicists was perfect.

The atmosphere was good. You can tell the author has knowledge of Cambridge. He gave vivid descriptions that placed the reader on the scene.

I couldn't put this book down. The short chapters kept convincing me to read just one more.

My only complaint was that I knew almost immediately who the killer was. The motivation... that blew me away and made me know I'd recommend this book to people who like thrillers or Dark Academia. Great read.
