When I said I was excited and couldn't wait to read The Maidens ,especially because I adored The Silent Patient, I could not have expected that The Maidens was this good! Seriously!

We are introduced to the brillant group therapist Mariana, who is stilling coping with her own loss, rushes to help her beloved niece, Zoe.

In walks in the dazzling Edward Fosca and catches Mariana's attention, and not in a good way.

The twists and turns and descent into Mariana's emotional chaos is perfect as it slowly burns through the story. Once I started, it was hard to stop reading and stopping was suspenseful in itselfas I anticipated my return.

I especially loved the twist on Greek tragedy. It gave it a nice touch.

Oh! Theo Faber! I definitely won't say more than that but a story universe has now been created by Alex Michaelides.

A definite satisfying read.
