This book was really interesting and I think the author did a great job with the actual writing. However the plot for me was a bit lacking. The idea had so much potential and I was super hyped to read The Maidens but the execution, at least in my opinion, was not the best. I didn't hate the book, I actually enjoyed it and I reccomend it to those out there who like mysteries and thrillers, I just personally wasn't blown away. The setting was cool though and it felt a lot like a dark academia set story (which I loved). The cover art is really cool and I like the way it was done. The characters did not feel super special to me and I was wary of pretty much everyone, but the narration was good and descriptive. I think I wish I read this at a different time, because right now I am not super into books like these right now (mystery or thriller, I mean) and its possible I would have enjoyed it more.
