The Silent Patient is one of the books that propelled me into reading Mystery/Thriller genre. I’ve enjoyed it so much that Alex Michaelides tops my list of authors’ future works I’m really looking forward to reading, so I was really excited when I’ve heard about the 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝘼𝙄𝘿𝙀𝙉𝙎, his debut follow-up.

Despite the protagonists’ slow character development and backstory, with tons of introspection in dealing with loss, I surprisingly found it intriguing and kept me hooked majority of the time. And who doesn’t love short chapters?! 😬. However, I cruised along its twists a wee bit underwhelmed and towards the end, let’s just say that I’m not a fan and just took it as it is. Loved it when there was a tiny cross reference from one of the characters in The Silent Patient though 🤫.

Granting all this, I will continue to keep A.M.‘s succeeding works under my radar. From the bottom of my book-loving heart, thank you @celadonbooks and @bookishfirst for my ARC!
