Mariana Andros is a widowed group therapist who is still trying to sort through her own feelings and grief whilst helping others including a troubled patient that stalks and harasses her. One night she is called back to Cambridge when her niece Zoe reveals her closest friend was brutally murdered. After the situation is explained to her, she is immediately suspicious of the Greek tragedy professor Edward Fosca, who has a group of students devoted to him named The Maidens. Seemingly untouchable, Mariana is determined to prove his guilt to no end.

Wow. This book was great, I read the whole book in less than 24 hours. The cover of this book goes beautifully with the content. The Silent Patient was my favorite book in 2019, it was fun to see this book set in the same universe, we get a glimpse at those characters in this book. Alex Michaelides did a fantastic job of weaving greek mythology into this storyline, I loved all the references. The mystery of whodunit really surprised me, I could not figure it out and was thoroughly surprised by the end. There were a few plot holes but the end of the book was satisfying enough for me.
