**spoiler alert**

Yea this book wasn't great for me... It was very slow and I didn't find Mariana likable at all! My thing is... she finds out that there was a murder at her niece's school and she decides to play detective. Almost every decision she makes is questionable and her reasoning even more for sticking around is just so DUMB DUMB... girl get a grip and at least don't put yourself in harm's way while trying to figure out what is happening!

Not sure why Henry was added as a character except maybe to throw off the reader... Fred was such an oddball that he seemed like he was only added for the benefit of the ending... the other psychotherapist that was hitting on her was also very pointless. It's like the author wanted to throw in random men that were attracted to Mariana just to confuse who the killer could be, which was pretty unnecessary since Mariana said every chapter who the killer was. And I often find books that are so unbelievable with the premise of her staying on campus, going into crime scenes, interviewing students and just not talking to the police at all about what she's doing... But the ending really really came from left field cuz... WTF?! So I guessed that her niece had something to do with it the way she was evading every reason to interact with the Maidens and especially the way that she was avoiding Mariana but let's be honest... her motive was WILD! Like... cmon now she's been sleeping with that man since she was 15?!

Anyway, I'll give this book a 2.25 because I genuinely wanted to know how it ended but then I wanted to throw the book at the wall once it did LOL
