Fantastic teaser of what I'm sure is an outstanding novel
The teaser is gripping. The first line drags you headlong into the novel, and the first chapters make you excited to learn more. The syntax and sentence structures deepen the sense of grief and pain Mariana is feeling.
The way the characters are painted makes the reader feel that they know them, or at least know the feelings that the characters are experiencing. The loss of a partner. Growing up in a less than ideal household. Spending time in the company of someone you would prefer not to be around.
The mastery of the details and description highlight the plot. This is absolutely a story over can visualize as the action takes place. First, you're with Mariana packing, then you're walking through the streets of Greece with her as old memories are stirred up.
Only seventeen pages, and I am already starved for more. I cannot wait to read the full novel!
