I loved the Silent Patient. I have been waiting for Alex Michaelides to write another book. I have been counting the days until I can read The Maidens
by Alex Michaelides.
The seventeen page teaser was just that a tease with a cliffhanger for the last sentence. I already feel attached to the main character Mariana. Alex does an excellent job providing detail and emotion to keep me engaged and connected to his characters.
Henry is just the right amount of creepy. His character is not overdone or cheesy.
The first chapter reveals that Marinas husband passed away a year ago. It has not been revealed yet how he died. I am curious to find out if there is a connection with Henry.
It is interesting to me that Alex's first two books revolve around a therapist. I have not read anything about Alex to explain that connection.
The wait is going to be even more difficult now that I have had a first look at Alex Michaelides new book The Maidens.
