We see the same style of writing that we did for The Silent, it’s well written and compelling.

Mariana Andrés is introduced to the books as the therapist and the main character of the story. We see that Mariana has poor boundaries and at times does some questionable things that a therapist shouldn’t do. The reader learns about Marianas background like how she was raised Greece, her family dynamics, and the death of her husband.

Then The Maidens is introduced as a secret society that one of characters was member of. But, I was confused on how The Maidens, being the title was included in the plot. We was not able to see the connected with The Maidens and the main mystery of the book.

The book is a slow burn and it took time to build up to the main twist. The twists were predictable, but I enjoyed the mystery behind it as I reading the book. Which is why I would call this one more of a mystery than a thriller.
