So the opening line came as a pleasant surprise - what a hook! It made me want to read on and find out more about Maria. I'm also intrigued by the Greek element - sounds intriguing! I am fascinated by Greek mythology so this definitely sounds appealing and I want to see how it will relate to Maria and her life.
The ending of the extract was also a cliffhanger...I want to turn on the news to see what happened!
