So in this first look of The Maidens by Alex Michaelides we follow Mariana, a group therapist, born in Greece, who is mourning the loss of her partner. We get a short look into her childhood and relationship with her father in Greece, as well as a look into her current job. We end with a SERIOUS cliffhanger after a tense group session with a somewhat stalker-ish patient. Mariana gets a call from her friend teller her to check the news and then the chapter ENDS!! What happens?! I need to know!
