I think an interesting story is awaiting the reader. Finally toward the end of the short excerpt we were given to read, the story became suspenseful and intriguing. There was too much being told to the reader in the first 14 or so pages. I always appreciate background to understand characters, setting, etc. , but just giving line after line of information without conversation and without more of a story being made out of the information, is not appealing to me. I do think there is a good story here.
