This would be my second Alex Michalades novel. The Silent Patient was at the top of my list to read this year as I couldn't get to it last year. Unfortunately, for me, this debut novel fell flat and disappointed dearly. Although from reading just a clip from The Maidens I am very intrigued. Mariana sounds like such an interesting character, and after 17 pages I wanted to know what happened. I can't wait to ba able to read the whole novel, and give this author a fair second chance. I am a thriller addict. Give me mystery, and murder in a plot and I am hooked.
