I am immediately drawn to the mystery of "The Maidens." Michaelides does a fantastic job keeping a reader's attention in the first few pages and I was disappointed when the first look ended because I want to know what happens next with Henry and the phone call. The cover is aesthetically pleasing and I'd love to learn more about why it fits the novel. Although I'm not immediately drawn to like Mariana's character, I'd still like to learn more about her and see if my opinion of her changes. This might have to do with the fact that I'm not in love with Michaelides's writing style. I'm thinking that it fits the novel and it'll take some getting used to, but it's definitely not terrible. Regardless, I am definitely adding to my list!
