I feel both intrigued and unbalanced after reading the First Impression. The main protagonist, Mariana, is vulnerable and empathetic. In just the first few pages, you know the loss and grief she has experienced. And then, Henry is thrown into the mix. He is strange and a bit terrifying. I was afraid for Mariana. Then there is Edward who is mentioned only in the prologue. Who is he and how do these three characters intersect? I'm already on the edge of my seat and I know nearly nothing.
