Intrigued, but It Seems like a Slow Build

The first sentence: "Edward Fosca was a murderer" gripped me. The prologue is a powerful introduction to what promises to be a psychological thriller. Marianne seems like a somewhat stable character with her own problems and heavy past, so I am interested to see where this story goes. Chapter 2 was a serious info dump, but the rest of the first impression excerpt was well-written. Also it ended on quite a cliff-hangar, so I'd like to satisfy my curiousity.
