First...that cover, loved it. I even like it better than the authors debut novel (The Silent Patient) cover which I loved (but was also freaked out by, i mean the mouth thing) But this cover with the ancient Greek stone maiden head with bloody neck and cracks all around, was artistic and fit nicely with the summary and what I read so far in the story.
I'm getting murder mystery feels and from the few pages that I read so far I'm intrigued to learn more about who done it and why. I also feel like its setting up a certain character for us to find like he must have done something, but like the silent patient, there has to be a twist or a turn not seen coming. I would definitely like to read more of Maidens , I like most people i know was blown away by The Silent Patient so I'm looking forward to reading the Maidens.
