Interesting opening to a highly anticipated sophomore novel

"The Secret History" receives a millennial update in Michaelides second novel, "The Maidens." I found the first few pages to masterfully set up a dark, cold tone that hooked me immediately into Mariana's world. I found the cover similarly eerie, in a good way.
