I loved Alex Michaelides’ The Silent Patient, and after reading the First Look, I believe that I will love The Maidens as well. His work is well-written and easy to read. He tells an interesting story. His characters may be flawed, but they are complicated and layered. Although the First Look was basically about the main character, group therapist, Mariana, her back-story was engaging and left me wanting more.
