I love how the opening is brief but clearly sets the reader on the path of our main character's goal and assuming antagonist. Then we are shifted in a previous scene where Marianna is packing up the belongings of her recently deceased beloved.
I think the author really captured the grief one feels when losing a loved on and the writing was highly relatable. I think the style of writing so far is enrapturing and fans of this genre would enjoy this read.
