Like the rest of the world, I devoured The Silent Patient in one sitting, and am highly anticipating Michaelides' next Anglo-Grecian thriller! This first look at The Maidens doesn't disappoint. Mariana is a group therapist in London and is still grieving the loss of her partner Sebastian after a year. She's dealing with a troubled patient and is also about to become intricately involved in a murder mystery that will consume her every waking moment. A friend of her niece's is found murdered in Cambridge and she was part of a secret society of female students called The Maidens. Mariana suspects that Greek tragedy professor Edward Fosca is responsible for the murder. He's well-respected and handsome, but also arrogant, and Mariana believes he has a sinister connection to The Maidens. Mariana will do anything to stop him, even if she risks her own life. Can't wait to read this thriller!
