Having just finished The Alice Network, this book was a perfect follow-up. Not romanticized, it gives a real view into what these women endured. This is a must-read for anyone interested in the experiences of WWII Europe. If you know anything about the war efforts of women, this will fill in some blanks. If you don't, this will open your eyes and make you want to know more. This book is a well-informed glimpse into the period in both Europe and the United States, and takes the reader into the war from the perspective of Britain, France, and Germany, and then into the postwar era in those countries and the U. S. You will enjoy the relationships between the characters, including the "girls", the others in the network, and those who stumble upon the mystery and don't let it go.
