I really enjoyed reading this book, albeit it did take me a little while to get through it. Like all historical fiction, the writing is incredibly vivid and the author does not leave out any details about the character's lives. You really feel like you are there during the war or there in Grand Central. You know the two stories are going to connect somehow, but I got a little impatient trying to figure out how and when that would happen. I love historical fiction books like this that end up telling a story about the inspiring women who were fighting in the war, even though many of these women get left out of history and all the praise is given to the men. I hope we continue to discover stories like this in future works.

I would read this book if you enjoyed any of the following books: The Huntress, The Nightingale, Lilac Girls, The Lost Roses, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
