The excerpt that I read was interesting. I liked where it was going but it didn’t really catch my attention. I felt it was a bit vague. Stories unfold but the unfolding should capture my excitement and curiosity. I didn’t feel that curiosity with this excerpt. The story felt heavy though and I could see that there was much to delve into further in the book. The main character is complex. I had not heard of the aitjor’s resume before and was rather impressed by all her accomplishments. I assume that based on this information that her story is well researched and will have a great deal of history within its pages. I do very much like the book’s cover. It caught my attention immediately. Historical fiction readers will enjoy this novel.
