Seriously recommend this if you are a fan of All the Light We Cannot See or The Alice Network.

I read a lot of historical fiction based during World War 2 and this has been one of my favorites. You get a historical perspective of Europe during the war and New York City post war while also getting personal family and romantic anecdotes about the characters. The book spans a few years- from recruitment and training into a spy resistance program, through the efforts in the war, to post war in the US.

The author's writing flows really well and I love that the book was written from three different perspectives. I found myself drawn to one of the characters, Marie, more than the others so I couldn't wait until I got back to a chapter from her perspective. The almost "whodunnit" aspect of the book pulled me in immediately and I found myself wondering who was on what side of the war.

I will definitely be picking up more of Pam Jenoff's books in the future.
