This book, The Lost Girls of Paris, which is inspired by true events. imagines the stories and lives and histories of women who were secret agents during World War 2 in Occupied Europe. The book alternates between the stories of Grace after the war, who finds photos of the women and investigates to discover who they are and Eleanor Trigg, the leader of the women's spy division, and Marie, a newly recruited spy and her travels, friendships and missions. The book is vividly descriptive, immersing the reader into the storyline and the timeline. The characters represent the brave women who carried out similar missions in history, so it is interesting to learn about an area of history I hadn't known about before. The only part that didn't seem to fit within the story was the romance, however. It just seemed to be a distraction. I haven't read any of the author's previous books, but I look forward to reading more of her books!
