The book starts with Grace running late to work, and forced to go through Grand Central Station, a place she desperately tries to avoid after receiving news there of the loss of her husband. She accidentally finds a briefcase that's she's drawn to that includes pictures of different women. The book then transitions to England where Eleanor Trigg is tasked with assembling a team of women to go to France and disrupt German efforts to control the country. Each chapter delves a little bit into each of the women's character, and makes you want to know more about them as well as the role they have to play in the story. Women's role in World War I and World War II are popular themes in historical fiction right now, but this is still appealing!
