This looked interesting. So after the short read I Googled "SOE". Wikipedia has this:

Although women were first considered only as couriers in the field or as wireless operators or administrative staff in Britain, those sent into the field were trained to use weapons and in unarmed combat. Most were commissioned into either the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) or the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.[66] Some (such as Pearl Witherington) became the organisers of resistance networks. Others such as Odette Hallowes or Violette Szabo were decorated for bravery, posthumously in Szabo's case. Of SOE's 55 female agents, thirteen were killed in action or died in Nazi concentration camps.
The purpose of the SOE or Special Operations Executive was "to practice espionage, sabotage and reconnaissance in occupied Europe (and later, also in occupied Southeast Asia) against the Axis powers, and to aid local resistance movements". (Wikipedia).
I think this is the perfect time for this book and it will have a good reception. I love reading about women tear down social expectations. I just wish the title referred to them as women instead of girls.
