A historical tale of female spies during WW II and from both London and New York locations .. Yes please .. I just recently fell in love with reading historical fiction and this seems like an amazing story on a subject I don't have a lot of knowledge on.
I am intrigued by the writing style, I love the way the book is written from different female POV's and the different places the book is taking place.
After reading about Grace and her coming across an accident in New York by Grand Central station to finding a suitcase with a stack of pictures of women, I am wanting to know if the two have anything to do with one another. Who does this suitcase belong to? Who are the women in the photos?
Then the story takes on another level when you are taken to France and start reading about the strong willed woman with a brilliant idea of using women as spies to bring down German forces. Her name is Eleanor. She becomes a the leader of recruiting women spies. I want to find out more about her. How she recruits these women, how to uses them in the field, and more about her story.
The next part got me hooked even more, when Marie is introduced and seems to be the first recruit spy we encounter in the book. How will she be used in the story? How will she handle not being in contact with her daughter?
Who was killed in the train station? How does Grace and the women of France connect? What happened to these women? How many recruits will we be introduced to? How does Eleanor handle her job and possibly the loss of some of her spies?
This first impression left me with so many questions I want answers for .. I am ready to continue to read this and see what unfolds. So many strong women characters with completely different roles during a time where the world is in turmoil and women are not looked as being strong and necessary when it comes to war...
