I've been watching for the publication of this book for a Iong time. I'm a USN Veteran and worked in military intell. It's about time we started hearing about the heroic women of WWII. Historical fiction is my favorite genre and this book is one of the reasons. Movies depict women in the military in WWII as secretaries, nurses or handing out orange juice to the troops. The truth is women have been much more than is depicted for a long time. These women who worked with the resistance as well as those who worked in intelligence did vitally important work and did it as good as if not better than men. In the era of stay at home mothers these women paved the way for future generations. They were less noticeable and less suspect than men which was an advantage in war time. I want to thank this author as I do all authors who write these unknown true stories of heroic women in the military. It's time a light was shined on them and their major contribution are known. Military life isn't easy today. It was near impossible for women in these jobs in WWII. This is a book I will read and savor because it is long overdue. These are the women who made it clear we are capable of more than cooking, cleaning, typing and passing out orange juice.
