I have to admit that the cover catch my attention. The colors are beautiful and I can just stare at it for so long.

The writing is immaculate; she have able to paint a picture so good in writing, I feel like I was there admiring it in a museum. The main characters, Saya and Indir, are well written. Both Dreamers with different lives. I couldn't pick a favourite, I get happy to read both point of views.

I've never read a book based on ancient mesoamerica, based on a tribe, before. The world building is well planned out. With the Warriors, Dreamers, Iklan, exc. The mythology and culture that are explain with such detail is absolutely breathtaking.

Then there is the body positivity. Every shape and size and marks were describe with care and love.

The only thing I had a problem was how many characters started in the beginning. It's hard to keep track of them when it is all at once. Overall, it was a good read with an amazing twist. If another book is set in the same world, I would definitely get it.
